Plays
My plays are very different from one another in form, but each play is deeply invested in the purpose of a collective. Bathsheba's Psalms is a sexy, funny, poetic satire retelling the Old Testament myth of Bathsheba and Kind David. The Sandwich Program uses naturalistic language and real food to see into the lives of five lonely volunteers amid our ongong national hunger crisis. Now Lie In It follows a group of hospital janitors in a failing institution years before a futuristic survival team remembers the concept of honey. My plays are language-driven and unabashedly portray desire, labor, and the systemic structures that keep us apart.
